Actually, The part that I really have a problem with is the fact that they made Clear swear. You can say what you want about Mink, that he speaks in a rough, more rude Japanese, but Clear would never swear. Ever.
I like how you can assume that I was upset because they didn’t translate it the way I wanted it. If it was the way I wanted it there would have been more swears, swears everywhere. And Clear would have been presented as a walking sex-bot. And Virus and Trip would have been translated as having been fuck buddies.
But no. I would have been mad if they translated it the way I wanted the story to go too, because it would be inaccurate and inaccuracies piss me off even more.
Also, Nain being spelt Nine and Bertha being named fucking Welter omg that pisses me off so much I want to scream and Rurakhan! Why did they spell it Lulakhan (or however the fuck they spelled it I block it out)!? I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THESE THINGS AND THEY MAKE ME SO UPSET!! THEY’RE SO BASIC!!!
Believe me when I say that there are more important and pressing, basic, things that piss me off infinitely more than a few extra swear words in Mink’s route.
You obviously don’t know me very well if you think that I ship Minao. I like minao. I think it’s cute, but my die hard ship in DMMd KouAo. So, we’re just going to look over that. Though, I’ve never seen anyone have a holier than thou attitude towards them. (As that’s how that turn of phrase actually goes. It’s “holier than thou” because it’s supposed to mean “someone who thinks they are more holy and morally right than the person with whom they are speaking.”)
And they (I say “they” because I kept my peace for the most part) were not upset because a ship was threatened. They were upset because of gross mischaracterization. There were a bunch of mistakes across the board that had a lot of people upset. Not just Mink fans.
Now. Lets address this “I want to slap” someone thing. Because that’s a quick way to get me to stop taking your ass serious. “Crazy” fangirls can not “literally” ruin a fandom in days. Your ass is treading on very precarious grounds there. There’s some bull shit I can not deal with and threatening people who have done not a damn thing to you is one of them. I almost didn’t respond to this at all, but then you’d probably walk around with your ass in the air thinking that you knew a thing about me that you did not, in fact, know.
So let’s get some things straight.
1. Not everyone who was upset about the translations were girls. Not everyone in the dmmd fandom are girls.
2. Calling people “fangirls” and using “girls” to imply stupidity or ridiculousness is misogynistic.
3. Calling people crazy is ableist.
be as rude as you fucking want. I don’t give a shit, but keep coming here being a bigoted ass hole and see how I respond.
robots getting really concerned when a human yawns and then another human does as well and wondering if this is some sort of group signal that they need to respond to so they just awkwardly go “aaaaaa” to try and imitate them
robots jumping and getting really scared when a human sneezes and rushing over to check on them “DID YOU JUST BLOW A FUSE ARE YOU ALRIGHT DO YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE”
robots getting all worried when their human is blushing because “your surface temperature has increased and your pigment is off are you alright”
robots trying to understand human bodies (◕ω◕✿)

I was putting off homework and flipping through some One Piece when I found this quote. Oda’s one of my favorite modern artists of any medium for a lot of reasons, but I think this quote sums up my admiration for him perfectly. Think about it! When this was written, One Piece was only 4 years old, and 12 years later it’s still going strong because he’s committed to his story and his characters and his readers. I cried when I found this and I’m cryin’ now because I’m tr a sh
stop calling young looking characters shotas oh my god shota is literal child porn and youre using it as an endearing term
Shotacon is short for Shotaro complex. shotaro complex means an attraction to young boys. shotacon refers to people attracted to shotaro-type boys.
Shotaro by itself is a name associated with young boys and is particularly associated with a character called Shotaro from this one anime, who was very serious and responsible despite being childish and some people thought it was cute. he was in a kids show. there was nothing sexual about him in the show.
the complex, or to put it this way, the ‘con' part of Shotacon, is what means that it’s a sexual thing.
Shotaro or shota by itself just means the serious-young-boy character. without the complex/-con, there’s no connotation of attraction
some people might use shota to mean an attractive boy being they think shotacon and lolicon are the same. those people are dumb, and also wrong. Lolita and Shotaro have very different meanings, as character archetypes.
there glad we’ve cleared this up now can people please stop trying to act like Shota is a sex thing when they don’t even know fckin etymology and can we please stop having this same argument every fckin week.
it took me ten minutes to write that and now i’m running short of time
frick today i had my introduction to law test and while i think i did very well on most questions (if not one or two) and finished inside the appropriate time, i had a big big doubt on the last one, which was filed under the questions about the federalist system in switzerland (i read that both brazil and america are federalist countries too, and i know brazil doesn’t have a “right of initiative” (??) at all hahahaha but i was wondering about america? does it have one? it doesn’t seem like it does. from what i know of politics there, they don’t seem to keep it together at all) and it asked is every initiative that reaches the Council, assumed valid, would go to popular vote, yes or no?
time was running out and i didn’t reread the question (out of SHEER stupidity, since i’m rereading it now) and i first put yes, because the people have right to express themselves, but then at the last moment i switched to no because it still needs to comply with basic rights (?????what the fuck lara????) so i was rereading it with mother over lunch because it was still nagging me, and she did a bit of quick research (which really didn’t get anywhere) but after a bit of discussing and thinking (and REREADING THE QUESTION) i am pretty dang sure i got that wrong. fuck. fuck me.
but the point is, is anyone familiar with a bit of basic law here???? even in the context of america, how are things over there regarding popular initiative? are they nonexistent?
